Every small business can keep their accounting records in good order without a lot of stress. The keys to success are a little bit of bookkeeping know-how and a lot of consistency.
I starting keeping books in 2004 and turned it into my full-time job in 2017. I believe that good bookkeeping is an essential operation for every business and that many amazing, transformative businesses have failed simply because their accounting was not in order.
Poor bookkeeping complicates everything! Spotting cash flow issues, getting loans, and preparing taxes are always easier when you've got the books in order.
Great bookkeeping is within reach! The DIY Bookkeeping Club is a space designed to empower and support small business owners who want (or need) to do the bookkeeping for their themselves. The club encourages members to develop a habit reserving just one hour a week to accounting activities and teaches a laser-focused bookkeeping routine that is easy for anyone to follow.
The club is a safe place to ask questions and get the answers you need. We don't have a website because I'm pretty sure you don't have time to login to one (I wouldn't!). Also, I'm not a fan of message boards; live conversation is just so much easier! And we don't require pre-registration for live sessions because bookkeeping questions come up suddenly and I don't want you to have to wait for answers.
I am a full-on bookkeeping nerd, but I don't expect you to be! However, I am on a mission to convince you of a few things:
